Leh we dish out some doublesIn English
We Trinis love our doubles, but when we're hungry, our tempers run short. Still, the doubles vendors take good care of us. We love them dearly, and we know their job isn't easy.
They take our grumbling when we're a little upset about not being served right away, and they still get every order exactly right. Slight. Heavy. No pepper. Extra sweet sauce. "Give me two with everything, slight pepper." "Don't skimp on my channa." Bara in one hand, the channa spoon in the other, and every single one comes out right.
Some of us will never come close to their skill, but because we appreciate them so much, and love their doubles, we built a game to walk through what they go through morning and evening. So, everyone, come behind the counter and see if we can do it like them.
Let’s serve some doublesBara, channa, slight or heavy, chadon beni, sweet sauce, cucumber, kuchela, coconut. Asked for the way people ask at the stand, with a glossary for anybody who never had one.
Maxi conductors in Grande, students in Curepe, the fete crowd in St James, the office run in Chaguanas, shift change in San Fernando, a wedding cook-up in Penal, visitors in Tobago.
Every face and every line goes past a Trini cultural reviewer before launch. People, never caricatures. Every stand is made up, so no real vendor gets their name borrowed.
Daily Doubles gives the whole country the same rush, new at midnight Trinidad time, whether you play from Penal or Brooklyn.
Every ranked score is replayed on our server, tap by tap, before it reaches a board. Ads, when the apps have them, can never change a score.
A short age check comes first. Younger players get child mode: no ads, no public names, no boards, nothing sent to us.
This game is our salute to you, so we want real stands in it. After launch we'll bring a few well-loved vendors in as guest stops.
Doubles Rush is built around a daily ritual, played at home and wherever Trinis are. We design partnerships as part of that world, not interruptions to it.
Morning rush or evening rush, we're in the line.
This is an open beta, so your notes shape the game. What felt good, what felt off, what broke: every message goes straight to the person building it.
The online game is free for everybody during the open beta. Want it on your phone today? Open it on your phone and add it to your home screen: its own icon, full screen, even offline. Want the Android or iPhone app? Leave your email, pick your phone, and we'll tell you the day it lands.
